🇺🇸Federal Reserve · United States
Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System
The central bank of the United States and a primary supervisor of bank holding companies and state member banks.
Its role in AI governance
The Federal Reserve addresses AI mainly through its model risk management expectations, set out in the interagency guidance commonly known as SR 11-7, which requires banks to validate, document, and govern the models — increasingly including AI and machine-learning models — used in their decisions. It also monitors the financial-stability and consumer-compliance implications of AI in banking.
